Ways To Build A High Self Esteem And Stick To IT








Firstly, let's get a proper understanding of the word "self-esteem". Self-esteem is a feeling, it reflects a person's overall subjective emotional evaluation of his or her own worth. It is a judgment of oneself as well as one's attitude. This is normally instilled while we are in our youthful age and its easily influenced positively or negatively by friends, family, colleagues and the society at large. One's self-esteem can either be lower or high and on this post, I will be concentrating on low self-esteem and ways in which one can build a High self-esteem.



Identifying if you have low esteem and accepting it when you notices will help you improve it, there is a popular saying that a problem known is a problem have solved so yo have to acknowledge it first then work on it.  Here are some ways you can help build a high self-esteem.






  • POSITIVE TALK/AFFIRMATION

Always say positive things to yourself, make positive affirmations like "I am beautiful", " I am the best of my kind" avoid negativity, saying words like this light up the spirit, some people call it pride, they said we shouldn't be the one praising ourselves others should do that but am here to tell you today that self-affirmation is good. When you wake up every morning, after saying your morning prayers this should be the next things you should say to yourself. Positive words are very important and this translate to us naturally.





  • STOP COMPARISIM 
You should stop comparing yourself to others and this is one of the major cause of low self-esteem, learn to understand that you are unique and created for a purpose, other people's life and how far they have gone should never be your concern concentrate on building and developing yourself. it's no bad to admire people but to start comparing yourself them is a no no.


  • ACCEPT COMPLIMENTS
Learn to accept compliments whether it is been said to spit you or not always accept it, learn to use the word 'THANK YOU' and move, on your quite time if what is said was negative improve on that part of you to be a better person. This will make you stronger and unknowingly to you your self-esteem will be on the rising part.






  • Learn to appreciate yourself

  • Learn to maintain eye contact when speaking to someone, it might seem difficult initially but with time you will get used to it.

  • Funny as it may sound, exercise helps to improve your mood, you should do this most times.

  • Surround yourself with positive people

  • Never accept defeat so it as a learning process
